The weldassistant is not activated after installation and entry of the access data, what is the reason for this?

When entering the user name, you must observe upper/lower case, underscores, hyphens, special characters, spaces and spacing. After the last input, this must be confirmed by pressing the Enter key. Afterwards, enter the twelve-digit license key,
Then the OK button is released and the installation of the weldassistant® is completed.


Will there be any additional costs for a subscription after the purchase?

There are NO additional costs for the purchased software license of the weldassistant®. Updates within a version and edition are free of charge.
If a new edition or version is released by us, we will inform you about the costs of the upgrade by e-mail.

We also offer Software maintenance contracts that includes the further upgrades. Please contact us for more details.


How and from whom do I get my access data if I have lost them?

Send an email to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. and tell us the following information:
- Company contact details
- Edition and Version of the weldassistant® (e.g., Edition PRO-ISO of Version 8)
- Reason for contacting us.
You will receive your access data and the download link, to the e-mail address you provided, by e-mail from us within a maximum of 24 hours.


How do I proceed with a computer change?

Step 1: Install the weldassistant® on your new computer (download the STARTER Edition from our homepage www.weldassistant.com) and use your access data sent by us by e-mail.
Step 2: Look at your current installation of the set data path in the weldassistant - Home - Settings - Other- Data folder > here you will find the path where your data is stored.
Step 3: Copy all data to the new computer into the created folder "Data"- C:\Users\XXXXX\Documents\weldassistant\data\.
Step 4: Go to ... C:\Users\XXXXX\Documents\weldassistant\data\ and copy all data in this data path to the new computer and your data will be transferred.


Is it possible to install the weldassistant on a server?

No, the weldassistant is a single-user license. It can only be installed on a desktop and laptop. However, the created data can be stored centrally on a server and other users in the same company can access the created data.


Where can I buy a license of weldassistant?

How can we test your software weldassistant for a longer period of time?

Send us an email at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. and ask for time-limited access to SMART Edition. We will send you a free time-limited access for at least 30 days, which can be extended again.


Do I have to cancel the time-limited test or STARTER edition or does it just expire?

You can use the STARTER edition for free for an unlimited time. A time-limited Test version ends at the corresponding date. You do not need to do anything else.


What happens to my data when I update the weldassistant?

Nothing, the weldassistant does not overwrite your created data. If you maintain multiple weldassistant licenses, please make sure that you have the same software versions. Otherwise there may be an incompatibility and therefore you can not work with older versions, if you have a shared data path to save your data.


When creating a welding certificate, I no longer have access to the welder's inspection data/area range of approval.

You must first select ISO 9606-1 as the test standard. The calculation is based on ISO 9606-1 only.


Can I download the current STARTER Edition and work with my user data from an older version?

No.

How can I upgrade my weldassistant to a version 9 Edition SMART if I have installed a version 9 PRO licence?

Send us an order for a version 9 SMART edition. You only need to pay the difference between the two editions.


How do I create the layers in a WPS for orbital welding, in "Step mode" (pulse) or in "Continuous mode" to weld? Is it possible to include the step mode and the continuous mode in a WPS with the corresponding currents?

You can edit the naming of the layers. You can name for example Sector 0°-90°, Sector 91°- etc., according to your own creativity.


Why can't I open seam sketches in the welding sequence?

You must click on the arrow to the left of the seam type designation, then the selection of a number of layers opens, where you will eventually find your sketch.


What happens if the weldassistant is installed on a computer and the employee changes departments and takes his computer with him?

The access data of the software are registered to the company and not to the name of employees. In this case, please contact your IT-department that manages the licenses in your company.


Does weldassistant work on tablets, cell phones from Apple or Android systems too? - No

The software only works when using Microsoft Windows 10, 11 onwards, recommended 1 GB RAM or greater, 2 GB of available hard drive space
